Inpatient Neurologist Opportunity – AdventHealth Kansas City (Shawnee Mission Campus)
AdventHealth Kansas City Neuroscience Institute is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible neurologist to join our growing neuroscience service line as an Inpatient Neurologist at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team advancing comprehensive neuroscience and stroke care across the Kansas City region. The successful candidate will provide high-quality inpatient neurologic care while helping strengthen inpatient services, improve transitions to outpatient subspecialty care, and support continued program growth.
Our neuroscience program includes 26 physicians and 16 Advanced Practice Providers specializing in general neurology, vascular and interventional neurology, neurosurgery, epilepsy, neuro-oncology, pain management, complex spine, neuromuscular medicine, multiple sclerosis, and advanced neurovascular care.

Clinical Responsibilities
The Inpatient Neurologist will care for adult patients with acute and complex neurologic conditions, including:
- Ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
- Seizures and epilepsy
- Encephalopathy and altered mental status
- Neuromuscular emergencies
- Multiple sclerosis and other neuroimmunologic disorders
- Headache and acute neurologic presentations
- Neuro-oncology and brain tumor-related conditions
- Complex conditions requiring multidisciplinary care

Hospital Description
AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, located in Merriam, Kansas, is a 504-bed acute care hospital serving the Kansas City metro area, particularly Johnson County. Formerly Shawnee Mission Medical Center, it joined the AdventHealth network in 2002, guided by a mission to provide faith-based, whole-person care that nurtures physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Established in 1962, the hospital has deep roots in the community, originating from a collaboration between local leaders, the Johnson County Medical Society, and the New Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church to meet the area’s growing healthcare needs.
