AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, a leading faith-based, not-for-profit health system, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to join our growing Reflux & Foregut Surgery Program. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team dedicated to providing comprehensive care for patients with reflux disease and foregut disorders.
About our Opportunity:
- Join an established and growing Reflux and Foregut program with 2 physicians.
- Provide care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Full Time Schedule, Monday-Friday. No call, holidays or weekends.

- Base Salary (Exempt)

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse program
- Current, unrestricted Kansas APRN license
- Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Minimum of 2 years of advanced practice experience
- Prior surgical, gastroenterology, foregut, or related specialty experience
Hospital Description
AdventHealth South Overland Park, located at 7820 West 165th Street, Overland Park, Kansas, is a non-profit, full-service hospital campus serving southern Johnson County and the Kansas City metro area. Opened in October 2021 as the first new hospital in the region in 15 years, it expanded from an outpatient campus established in 2017, which included a 26,000-square-foot emergency department, lab, imaging center, and medical office building. The $150 million, 193,000-square-foot hospital, initially launched with 38 beds, has the capacity to expand to 85 beds and potentially up to 150 in the future, reflecting its commitment to meeting the growing needs of the community. A recent expansion in 2025 added a critical care unit to enhance its services.
The hospital provides comprehensive, whole-person care guided by AdventHealth's CREATION Life principles (Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal Relationships, Outlook, and Nutrition), focusing on physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Services include 24/7 emergency care, a state-of-the-art Birth Center with a Level II NICU and OB hospitalists, surgical services (orthopedics, general, robotics, urology, gynecology, ENT, bariatrics, and endoscopy), cardiology, intensive care, primary care, pediatrics, physical therapy, and integrative medicine through the AdventHealth Whole Health Institute, which offers personalized nutritional, functional, and naturopathic care. Notable innovations include Aquablation therapy for enlarged prostates (the first in Johnson County) and robotic knee replacement surgery for faster recovery. The hospital also partners with KC Bariatric for bariatric surgery and offers advanced imaging and on-campus laboratory services.
