Established in 1962, the hospital has deep roots in the community, originating from a collaboration between local leaders, the Johnson County Medical Society, and the New Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church to meet the area’s growing healthcare needs.

The hospital offers comprehensive services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, cardiology, neurology, maternity, bariatric surgery, and behavioral health, supported by over 700 physicians across 50 specialties and more than 3,300 employees. Its state-of-the-art AdventHealth Cancer Institute, accredited by the Commission on Cancer, provides advanced treatments like MRI-guided radiation therapy, doubling patient capacity with a new $76.5 million facility opened in 2024. The B.E. Smith Family Center supports children with developmental disabilities, and the Birth Center is renowned for delivering more babies annually than any other Kansas City hospital.
